Slow Cooker Ham and Beans

This recipe for crockpot ham and beans is perfect for those blustery days when you don't really have time to cook, but want a hearty meal for the family. It's a basic meal in your slow cooker that everyone will enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried great northern beans, soaked overnight
  • ½ pound cooked ham, chopped
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 8 cups water, or as needed

Directions

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Combine beans, ham, brown sugar, onion powder, parsley, garlic salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a slow cooker.
  3. Pour enough water into the slow cooker to cover the mixture by about 2 inches.
  4. Cover and cook on Low, stirring occasionally, for 12 hours.
