Creamed Peas

Peas are cooked in a creamy, savory sauce to create this flavorful, easy side dish!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen peas thawed
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter divided
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon dried dill optional
  • ¾ cup light cream or as needed

Directions

  1. Bring a small pot of water to a boil and add peas. Simmer 3 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and seasonings and cook 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in cream and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add peas and cook until heated through.
  4. Mix the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in and serve warm.
