Chicken kabobs in air fryer are a quick and wonderful appetiser or main course. They taste just like grilled skewers and are done much faster.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken breast cubes or about 500 gm.
  • 1 green pepper cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion cut into cubes
  • for marination:
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. cayenne optional
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1.5 tbsp. olive oil or mustard oil

Directions

  1. Clean and dry chicken cubes. Cut each pepper and onion into squares and keep aside.
  2. Assemble oil and spices along with lemon juice.
  3. Take chicken cubes, pepper and onion into a bowl.
  4. Add spices, lemon juice and oil and mix well till everything is well coated.
  5. Keep covered for 30 minutes in fridge to marinate.
  6. If using wooden skewers cut them to size that fits in the air fryer. Now soak them in water for about 15-20 minutes. I normally soak them for as long as I marinate the chicken.
  7. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 390F or 200C.
  8. Meanwhile, take the skewer and thread the marinated chicken cubes along with vegetables so as to alternate them.
  9. Try to pierce in the centre of chicken and veggies.
  10. Now brush the air fryer basket with some oil. Place each skewer inside the air fryer basket. I could fit 4 skewers or the entire 1 lb. Batch at one go in my XL air fryer.
  11. You may need to do batches in case you have a smaller air fryer.
  12. Now air fry for about 8-10 minutes till the chicken and veggies are nice and crispy outside and well cooked inside.
  13. Do not overcook or your chicken will dry out and get stringy.
  14. You may use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature of chicken is 165F.
  15. Take them out and serve hot. Enjoy!

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Nothing is more satisfying than cooking up a batch of wings without deep frying. The air fryer’s fan and heating mechanism create a frenzy of forceful hot air that swirls down and around the wings, crisping up the skin to golden perfection (and without the added calories of frying oil). Self-contained air fryers are not the only option for cooking at home: look for multi-cookers and ovens that have an air fryer setting. You can buy chicken wings that are already split or do the work yourself with whole wings – don’t forget to save the tips for making chicken stock.
